Effective basement tanking is increasingly important in both "new build" and refurbishment projects. In fact the pressure on developers and builders to optimise space has never been greater. Basement tanking products help to create dry environments which can be effectively insulated to meet current building regulations. In flood damaged properties, tanking can be used to speed up the drying out to re-occupancy timeline.

A brief outline for the schedule of work
1. Walls prepared by scabbling back to substrate, removing old paint and plaster. This creates a good "key" surface.
2. "Anti-sulphate " then applied to inhibit the passage of ground water salts.
3. "Barrier Mortar" applied to the wall to floor joint to achieve a water tight seal.
4. Render coat applied.
5. Kingfisher "Aquatech" tanking membrane applied, having allowed render to cure overnight. Two coats required.
6. Kingfisher "Dry wall" renovating plaster is applied to finish.
